Happy Monday, friends!
I’m not going to lie, I could use an extra weekend day since we traveled all day on Saturday. We are home and getting back into the routine this week! Nothing like hitting the ground running!
I am slowly finishing up rooms over here at Casa de Fancy. I was determined to get our guest bedroom finished in December because we had a bunch of guests coming through in January and February. I knew I wanted some sort of campaign style nightstand for each side of the bed. Enter, Ikea. I had purchased 4 RAST Dressers back in August (2014) and I DIYed two of them for Teddy’s room and had 2 more left. You can see that post HERE. I decided these last 2 dressers would be perfect for this room. I knew I wanted them to be navy with brass hardware. I love brass. I love navy. I love brass and navy mixed together. It took me some time to find the perfect navy blue, but once I did, this project was quick and easy, just like I like my DIY projects to be!
After filling the holes for the original knobs. I simply painted all of the dresser pieces. I ended up doing 3 coats of paint…2 just was not dark enough for my liking. The longest part of this project was adding the corner pieces. 16 screws per drawer and 6 drawers! That is a lot of screws! It look a bit of time, but the outcome is so worth it. After LOTS of searching, I found sets of campaign style pull with corners sets at Home Depot. Unfortunately, they have since been discontinued. Boohoo. I found a few similar options if you want to recreate this look though (see below). I’m pretty thrilled with how these turned out and honestly, they might be one of my favorite DIY projects to date!
